Perils, pleasures of winter: Weather forces unhappy bus passengers to travel in circles

Thomas, who was trying to get to Phoenix, and about 350 other travelers were expected to spend the night at the El Paso convention center after they were stranded in El Paso. Today, they will wait to see whether there is a chance for them to get to their destinations for the holidays. Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa are predicting a 30 percent chance of snow before 11 a.m. today. the high is expected to be near 38 degrees with partly sunny skies.
